Mission
Life is short,
so let’s do some good.
Strike Labs—consisting of an intentionally-small number of extremely experienced entrepreneurs and distributed technology specialists—is an independent, mission focused group that aims to help Department of Defense, Department of Energy, and Intelligence Community Program Managers who urgently seek capabilities that yet to exist.
Philosophy
Many hard problems have been solved…
at least on paper.
Strike Labs is a product & development shop with a focus on quickly implementing practical solutions based on published academic research. the solutions to most problems have either been previously solved either in a different arena, or is written in a scientist’s obscure white paper read only by a handful of their peers. We solve hard problems by building complex—yet intuitive—software very quickly.
🎨
Intuitive
Design
We create compelling experiences users via beautiful UX/UI design so the applications we work on “just work”. Tutorials, in-person training, and manuals are stopgaps for poorly designed solutions
🖥️
Scalable
Development
DevSecOps, AI/ML and all the latest buzzwords… we have been doing it for over a decade. Difference is that we only work with the top 1% rockstar full stack developers which normally produce 90% of the production at traditional shops.
⏱️
Robust
Quality Control
The test strategies, manual and automated techniques and quality assurance processes followed by our Quality Assurance Engineer’s ensure there are no flaws.
💼
Professional
Product Management
Agile, Kanban, Waterfall, Scrum, etc. it’s all a way of getting work done, and we have been being productive for over a decade. Leveraging our professional management (scrum master, product owner, etc.) allows you to rest knowing you are building the right thing, at the right time, and that your development team is all rowing in the same direction.
Best Practices
Development
Strike Labs has utilized DevSecOp practices, establishing Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery pipelines as well as monitoring working software since 2012. In fact, all of the businesses Strike Labs has built over the better part of a decade have been fully scalable software-related businesses.
The team utilizes industry-standard best practices, leveraging and sustaining the systems. Best practices include using version control for infrastructure code, bug tracking/ticketing systems, conducting peer reviews before implementing changes, following documented and agreed upon processes, implementing automated testing, and establishing infrastructure code patterns/designs.
Product Management
Strike Labs, utilizing agile best practices and an extensive technology toolkit, discerns individual project requirements and incorporates previous lessons learned into an operational plan that will navigate the program to successful completion and drive customer success. Strike Labs’ customized, automated web-based systems and applications promote excellence and quality through innovative service. The team operates in an almost exclusively agile methodology. Since 2012 the team has been executing weekly sprints including a comprehensive meeting cadence. Even if the billing or project business model is based on deliverables extending far into the future (i.e. months), the agile methodology is still the modus operandi for the team.
Team
The future of work is purposefully distributed. We all help each-other as navigators, part time employees, full time employees, board members, advisers, mentors, contract workers, and—most importantly—friends. It’s our tribe, and we rely on each-other daily.
Updates
SBIR’s, love ‘em or hate ‘em, they are part of the innovation that exists in the USG. Stripping emotion out of the decision process completely we wanted to build a fundamental and systematic way to determine if it is worth submitting to a SIBR topic. It has been over a year since Strike Labs was asked to rapidly develop some technical capabilities to help out with the Afghanistan extraction.
Here is the story of how we got into it, and an update on its future.

The security and privacy of national, military, state, corporate, and private citizens are made more vulnerable by the Automatic Dependent Surveillance–Broadcast (ADS-B) Out signal. It pains us to see development teams and product owners in the DoD and large primes failing due to mismanagement. Blurred boundaries and not managing expectations result in either a combination of 1) an unusable product, 2) missed deadlines, and 3) blown budgets.
